Connaught Property services has been established since the early 1980’s and is dedicated to the refurbishment and maintenance of residential and commercial buildings throughout the United Kingdom. Now the major subsidiary of Connaught plc, the division turned over in the region of £150 Millions for the year ending 31 August 2004. Social housing refurbishment and maintenance now represents approximately, 95% of the company’s business and we feel we have, therefore, had the benefit of gaining significant experience within this field and accordingly developed our philosophy around the Social Housing market needs.
The Company was originally formed to provide refurbishment and maintenance service throughout the South West. Whilst the Group’s headquarters remain in Devon, the company has since expanded with the offices in the South East, Midlands, North East, Yorkshire, Scotland as well as the North West. Our success has been built up on the concept of Relationship contracting and our ability to provide the highest standards of service, quality and value.
Approximately, 80% of Connaught’s turnover is a result of repeat business – backing up our high level of customer service and commitment to Relationship Contracting. As part of the Company’s continual commitment to Customer Satisfaction, we introduced a Customer Satisfaction Tracking Programme into the Customer Service process. The programme monitors and evaluates Customer opinions of Connaught’s performance and levels of satisfaction achieved throughout the lifecycle on each and every project carried out by the company, whether that be traditional or partnering schemes.
We are aware of how important communication, customer service and satisfaction is at Connaught and have, therefore, developed policies and procedures around this. In addition, we directly employ Customer Liaison Officers on all our schemes, who act as the link between the residents, residents organisations, the Company as well as our Clients. We understand the need for keeping residents informed of the status of the works and what is required of them, which is essential if the work is to be completed successfully.
The Company has a firm commitment to partnering, as can be seen from a considerable track record of partnering, with our forward order book now exceeding £1 Billions over the next 10 years. The Company’s advanced position helped to secure its first two partnering arrangements with Gosport Borough Council and South Somerset Homes. These two arrangements have now been recognised throughout the industry as examples of best practice in this developing market, and awarded Demonstration Project Status by The Housing Forum. In addition, our Partnerships in the North West with both First Choice Homes Oldham and Bolton at Home have recently been awarded Demonstration Project Status.
As well as receiving QA accreditation, Connaught has received the Investors in People accolade, BBA Certification and is working towards becoming an Employer of Choice. In addition, Connaught received a Customer Focus Award in the National Business Awards 2002.
