Respect Our Community Awards Scheme

Respect Our Community Awards

The Respect Our Community Awards have been designed to enable the communities of Oldham to be as imaginative as possible when trying to resolve issues of nusiance that affect them in the area where they live.

The Awards will fund projects that:

  • Build confident communities that pull together to solve problems that affect them.

  • Raise awareness of other sections of Oldham's diverse community.

  • Increase participation of community events to help bring neighbourhoods together.

  • Develop skills of individual people so that in turn those new found skills will benefit the community.

FCHO has started a 'resource bank' into which resources have been deposited by organisations from the public private and the voluntary sector.Residents and tenants can apply for resources including cash to support events, schemes and initiatives that are designed to bring communities together. FCHO wants to enable communities to thrive and for people to enjoy their neighbourhood.

So, if you think that you may have an idea that would make your area a better place to live, or you think that you would like to get to together with like minded people to make a difference in your neighbourhood apply for an award!.

You can download an application pack here

Once you have sent in your application you will be sent a unique reference number relating to your project.

Under eighteens are welcome to apply too but you will need permission from your parent or carer. Please phone the Better Neighbourhoods Team who will be happy to send a form to your parent or carer requesting their consent.
