Applying for British Citizenship can be difficult and take a long time. The Home Office will return any application that is not filled in properly or does not have the right supporting evidence.
From 21st January 2008, Oldham Register Office, in partnership with the Home Office, will be able to support those who are applying for British Citizenship by offering a Nationality Checking Service for their application forms.
For a fee, Registrars can check that applications are completed correctly and have been submitted with all the necessary supporting documents and the correct Home Office fee.
