Other Ways to Pay the Council

Oldham Council provides several options for the payment of bills for services provided. As well as the online payment options, these include:

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the most cost-effective and efficient way to make a payment. All Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme monitor and protect its  security in order that you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. You can make payments in instalments by Direct Debit for some Council services. For more information please click on one of the following links:

Pay by telephone (during office hours)

If you would prefer to talk to a member of staff at the Council  when you make a payment, please telephone 0161 770 6611 between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday and select option 2 (The member of staff you speak to will use the online payment service on your behalf to process your payment. Online authorisation will still take place and the member of staff  will provide you with the transaction  ID and authorisation code as confirmation that your payment has been processed. In addition, if you provide us with an email address, we  will send you an email   to confirm the details of the payment you have made

Pay in person

Post Office

You can make  a payment by cash, cheque or debit card at  any Post Office. Cheques must be made payable to Post Office Ltd.

NO FEE will be charged for paying at the Post Office.

PayZone Outlets

You can pay for some services by cash and in some cases debit card at any of the 130 PayZone outlets in Oldham.

NO FEE will be charged for using this service.

Standing Order

Anyone with a suitable bank or participating building society account can pay by this method. You have to set up the Standing Order to be deducted from your account 3 days before the payment is due to allow sufficient time for the money to transfer into our account.
