My role at Oldham Council
I represent the residents of the St James’ Ward and sit on the East Oldham Area Committee.
I am Vice Chair for First Choice Homes.
I am also a member of the Performance and Continuous Improvement Overview and Scrutiny Commission.
Political Interests & Experience
I have been a Councillor at Oldham Council for 10 years, and have been involved with the Liberal Democrats for 12 years. I actively campaign and canvass for the Lib Dems in the run up to elections, both national and local.
Politically, I am very interested in Housing, which I believe is a fundamental concern of the residents of my ward. I also take a keen interest in conservation issues and the environment.
Other Interests
I am a member of Friends of Stoneleigh Park in Derker – we turned the park round from the wilderness into one of the premier parks in the country, an achievement which I am very proud of.
I have lived in Derker all my life. I am now retired, having worked in Personnel and running a family business. Most of my spare time is taken up by my family – in particular my granddaughter!
In the past I attended Church regularly although these days my work as a Councillor for St James’ takes up the majority of my days!
