Oldham's Big Number Change

Don't forget - 770

Contacting the Council - telephone number changes

In June Oldham Council replaced its existing telephone system, due to the current managed service agreement coming to an end, and to take advantage of new technologies that have become available since the previous contract was agreed.

The new telephone system is much more advanced, offering a variety of options and facilities previously not available, whilst also providing significant cost savings. There are also more numbers available which will allow for the expansion of the Council's telephone system over the coming years.

From the 4th of June ALL Council telephone numbers changed to the new 770 prefix. All number's will follow the format of 0161 770 XXXX

The Council's 911 and 222 prefix numbers are a part of the previous service agreement and areno longer available.

The changes do not affect the four-digit extension numbers of Council staff. To call officers at the Council simply dial the area code for Oldham (0161) the new Council prefix (770) and their extension number (the final four digits of their current telephone number).
