No Smoking Day is an annual UK wide campaign (established as a national event on Ash Wednesday in 1984) which encourages smokers to give up smoking for good. It is organised by a charity of the same name, currently run by four full time staff. Based in London, the charity is funded by a coalition of governmental and voluntary sector organisations with an interest in health.
