National No Smoking Day

What is No Smoking Day?

No Smoking Day is an annual UK wide campaign (established as a national event on Ash Wednesday in 1984) which encourages smokers to give up smoking for good. It is organised by a charity of the same name, currently run by four full time staff. Based in London, the charity is funded by a coalition of governmental and voluntary sector organisations with an interest in health.

When is No Smoking Day?

No Smoking Day is always the second Wednesday in March (this year's was held on 11th March) so it will next take place on Wednesday 10th March 2010. However, the No Smoking Day charity also conducts year-round initiatives to encourage and support smokers who want to quit.
