Welcome to the new look newsletter from the Health and Safety Section, produced to provide businesses within the Borough with information on changes in existing legislation and our campaign activities. For details, please see our current Newsletter.

Falls from Height Campaign 2008

Following the success of previous years, Oldham Council’s Environmental Services directorate's Health and Safety Section are once again working in partnership with the Health and Safety Executive to deliver a key national campaign. The aim of the campaign is to reduce injuries as a result of falls from height. Officers from the section will be visiting businesses across the borough, addressing issues such as work equipment, training and the management of work at height.

Included in the campaign and running throughout the month and beyond, the section are once again running a Ladder Amnesty, where local businesses can receive discount off new sets of ladders if they surrendered defective sets. If you are a business or a householder with a defective set of ladders, you can take them to one of the following stores and you will receive discount on a new pair. Participating stores include:
