Hathershaw and Fitton Hill NDC
New Deal for Communities in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is one of 39 programmes across the country.
The Government has funded the programme to regenerate the area with £53m. The Programme started in 2001 and will continue until 2011. It is a resident-led regeneration programme and is governed by a Management Board which consists of residents, key agencies and partners.
The vision for the New Deal for Communities Programme in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is;
Hathershaw & Fitton Hill will be a place where people choose to live and work, with a community to which they are proud to belong.
Over the past four years the Programme has undergone a process of change and has recently been restructured into six key themes. These are:
- Education and Lifelong Learning
- Housing and the Environment
- Crime
- Health and Wellbeing
- Community Cohesion
- Employment and Enterprise
