Think Local
Respite care means offering short breaks - overnight, weekends, or longer
- away from home in residential care. This gives the people concerned and their carers a break from
each other, and allows carers a chance to have some time to themselves. Respite care can also be used
for holiday relief, or for us to carry out an assessment of someone's needs and abilities. Adult and
Community Services can offer respite care for the following people :
- Adults with learning disabilities
- Older people with mental health problems
