Neighbourhood Care Network

What the service is

The aim of the Neighbourhood Care Network project is to bring together local services that provide support to older people to enable them to remain independent in their own homes.

Regular meetings are held for representatives of borough-wide services:

  1. To bring together borough-wide services, including social care and health services, Voluntary organisations and Community Groups that provide support to older people to enable them to remain independent in their own homes.

  2. To raise awareness of preventative services in Oldham and share information about service developments, events, training opportunities and so on.

  3. To influence the development of services for older people in Oldham.

  4. To link with the work of Forum4Age (Oldham’s borough-wide Older People’s Forum).

Regular meetings are also held for representatives of locality-based organisations such as local lunch clubs, community associations, outreach sessions and activity groups in the Failsworth and Hollinwood area and the Saddleworth and Lees area. Other areas will be added on an ongoing basis.
