The School Governors One-Stop Shop is a small limited company with charitable status that offers information and advice on how to become a school governor.
Supports and complements work already undertaken by Local Authorities and other organisations to recruit people with skills and vision who can add value to school governing bodies.
Works with private, voluntary and public organisations on imaginative schemes to encourage staff with transferrable management skills to become school governors.
Raises awareness of the need for school governor volunteers and stimulates understanding of the governor role.
Encourages local people to volunteer with the aim of ensuring governing bodies are representative of their diverse communities.
Offers a brokerage service to schools with vacancies to match them with would-be governors.
