Pupil Service

Pupil Service provides:

Advice on the exclusion process

Pupil Service offers advice to parents, head teachers and school governors on all matters related to exclusion – both fixed term and permanent. They can give accurate and up to date information both on the exclusion process and the Secretary of State’s Guidance on Disciplinary Exclusion from School.

A representative from Pupil Service will attend all permanent exclusion meetings held in Oldham maintained schools. They will also be invited to and informed of any meeting being held for an exclusion that is more than 15 days. Pupil Service is informed of all exclusions that are recorded at Oldham Schools.

Advice for parents considering education at home

Pupil Service offers advice to parents who are considering teaching their children at home. Elective home education is the responsibility of parents. Pupil Service can give information on the process and the legal background on home education.

Pupil Service keeps a register of all Oldham children who are educated at home.
