The Education Out of School services provide education for pupils of compulsory school age who, by reason of illness, exclusion from school or otherwise, may not be able to access mainstream school.
The Education Out of School Services are;
The Pupil Referral Unit
The unit consists of two sections, the Pupil Support Centre and Specialist Learning Centre (formally Home and Hospital) with the Pupil Support Centre spilt over two sites. These two PSC sites are located at Broadbent Road, Watersheddings and Dean Street, Failsworth.
Pupil Support Centre, provides education for;
- Pupils who have been permanently excluded
- Pupils who are at risk of permanent exclusion
- Pupils with Special Needs relating to Social, Emotional and behavioural Difficulties

Specialist Learning Centre Provides;
- Education for children who cannot attend school due to illness
- Education for Young Women With Children
- Support for traveller families
- Monitoring of Education at Home
