What is Building Schools for the Future?

The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme is the biggest single government investment in improving school buildings and facilities for over 50 years.  It is a 10-15 year programme which aims to rebuild, renew or refurbish every secondary school across the country so that every young person and their community have access to 21st century facilities.

The Government’s vision is for school buildings to inspire learning, for them to nurture every pupil and member of staff and for them to be a source of pride and a practical resource for the entire community to enjoy. It's about much more than school buildings though. In Oldham BSF will transform teaching and learning. Schools will have high quality facilities and integrated information technology to help deliver personalised learning tailored to the needs, interests and aptitudes of every child.
