Welcome to the First Choice Homes Oldham website.
First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) was created in April 2002 to manage council owned properties across Oldham Metropolitan Borough. We currently provide services to over 12,858 council tenants and leaseholders in Oldham.
After a successful "Yes" vote, First Choice Homes Oldham will now become a not for profit Registered Provider of Social Housing (formally Registered Social Landlord RSL). Tenants voted overwhelmingly in favour of the transfer which will bring much needed investment to homes and neighbourhoods across Oldham. First Choice Homes would like to thank everyone who voted in the ballot and for the continued support we receive from our customers.

The Government says that councils must have a scheme for allocating council housing (even if their homes are managed by an ALMO). Oldham Council’s allocations scheme dates from 2006. It needs amending to ensure that it works effectively and that homes go to the people who need them. The council has worked closely with local housing associations to develop these proposals. This survey is to allow residents to give their views on the proposed changes to Oldham Council’s housing allocations scheme. It doesn’t matter whether you are a council or housing association tenant, an owner occupier or a tenant of a private landlord. We are interested in hearing everybody’s views on the proposals.
