During an emergency or disaster situation...
Public safety is a priority.
Seek advice and information from the emergency services, or in the case of flooding, by the Environment Agency, or gas, electricity and water, by the relevant service provider.
If you are at the scene of an incident, follow the instruction of the emergency services, if there are no emergency services at the scene dial 999.
You may not be aware of an incident, and be alerted by the police to stay inside and close all windows and doors, the advice is:
Information will be available on GMR Radio, the Television (Ceefax/Teletext), and the Internet.
Alternatively you may be asked to evacuate to a place of safety.
