Following consultation with residents in December 2007, the Council has approved a new Main Aim and 4 new corporate objectives for the period 2008-11.
The Council’s main aim is: Better Life opportunities for Oldham’s Citizens’ which replaces the main aim and mission in our previous Corporate Plans.
This aim is underpinned by 4 Corporate Objectives (our priorities). The Plan sets out what we will improve in these priority areas, structured around 3 broad themes for each objective as follows:
Safe & Strong Communities (Safer Oldham; Cleaner & Greener Oldham; Strong Communities)
Economic Prosperity (Increasing the attainment levels of Oldham’s Children & Young People; Improving skills; Business Growth & Employment Opportunities)
Health & Well Being (Promoting Independence; Promoting Better Health; Safeguarding & Promoting the Well-being of Children, Young people & Vulnerable Adults
Excellent Services (Accessible & Responsive Services; Services that Represent Value; High Quality Services)
These objectives replace the previous corporate themes.
