These are exciting times for the council and the borough. We’ve recognised the problems of the past and we’re facing the future with renewed confidence. We’re proud of our achievements. But we know that we continue to face significant challenges – not least the current economic climate.
Our confidence comes from having a clear view of where we need to be, and a clear plan for how we will get there. Our Corporate plan provides the framework for us moving forward with these priorities we belive are important to us achieving our ambitions.
It provides us with a framework to ensure our resources are clearly targeted to deliver for the people who live and work in our borough. And in achievement our objectives we are committed to working to our core values. These focus us on taking pride, in helping to make the borough a place of choice, while valuing each other, acting with integrity and making sure we deliver our best at all times.
Our ambition is for our borough to be up there with the best. We know we need to continue to improve the way we perform as a council, and this Plan sets out some of the key actions for us. But most importantly we need to continue working with our citizens and partners in more effective and transparent ways to deliver real and lasting change.
