They are plans that will explain what is going to be happening in your area in the future. They will tell you about the many things that are already planned e.g. preparing for Metrolink, creating new Community Safety Panels, building a new school at Kaskenmoor, but they will also tell us about aspirations for the future e.g. improving the cleanliness of our streets, reducing crime levels, encouraging the creation of quality jobs for local people.

Decision makes like the Council, the Police and the Health Services will use them to plan for the services you need in your area. The plans will be used to guide decision makers on what additional money and resources are needed. Private companies and developers who want to invest in the area e.g. providing new jobs, wil also find them useful.
You will! Lots of people have spoken to us in the past abut their important issues and we are using this information along with facts about your area such as crime rates, unemployment figures and healt. We need you to tell us about your ideas for change in your area. We need to know from you what has worked and what hasn't worked in the past. What would make a real difference to your quality of life?
Keep in touch with your local Area Committee or other local groups that are links to the Area Committee e.g. tenants associations. In the Autumn, we will be repeating this type of event and reporting back to the Area Committee with a draft area plan. If they agree with what it says, they will adopt the Area Plan and use it in their meetings to plan their work programme.
