Club Accreditation
Oldham Integrated Youth Service - Sport Development, Sport England and National Governing Bodies of sport support, recognise and value the commitment made by sports clubs to develop high quality, welcoming environments for young people and performers. The development of clubs that encourage young people to take-up sport and develop their skills and talents maintaining lifelong participation in sport, is an essential part of supporting the sporting infrastructure in the Borough.
The service works with clubs through the accreditation process, following an agreed development plan, and set realistic and achievable targets/ timescales to achieve the accreditation.
The team also provides ongoing support to accredited clubs in order to help them achieve their ongoing development plan targets, training requirements, funding applications and annual health checks.
The following benefits are available to clubs who are working towards or who have achieved Club Mark:
Increased membership and retention of members.
Continuous improvement of the club, individuals and facilities.
Access to attend Integrated Youth Service (Sport) events and holiday programmes to give taster session to young people and promotional material to young people.
Facilitate formal high quality school-club links, establishing benefits to both schools and clubs, and improving referrals of new players.
Provides assurance for parents/ carers when choosing a suitable club for their children.
Positively reflected in funding applications.
