Chadderton Health and Well-being Centre

Chadderton’s Health and Well-being Centre is now a step nearer, after plans for the ambitious project were unveiled at Asda Chadderton at the end of October.

The multi-purpose centre will bring together a host of facilities in one location including the new swimming pool, dance studio, library, gym, meeting rooms, café and a community police hub.

The plans for the new centre were created after consultation was carried out with people in Chadderton, and many of the suggestions and ideas made by residents have been incorporated into the project.

The centre will be built in the heart of Chadderton, on the Wellington Street site, and will provide high quality, modern and accessible facilities for the people of Chadderton and beyond, both now and for future generations.

The project is being developed in partnership with the Oldham LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust)  - Community 1st Oldham, which is made up of representatives from Oldham Council, Oldham Primary Care Trust and Greater Manchester Ambulance Services.

Work is expected to start early next year with the centre being opened in Spring 2009.
