We understand that the SureStart initiative is heavily dependent on the success, professionalism and quality of the childcare provision in Oldham. This is why, as a core part of the SureStart service, we offer information and training on business issues faced by childcare providers. Business Support Officers work in each of the 150 local authorities, advising potential and existing providers on a range of business issues. A new range of business support resources are now available to download free. The materials are aimed at developing the business skills of childcare providers and potential providers in setting-up, improving sustainability and the viability of childcare provision. The fund was set up to extend and build on the excellent work that is already taking place in partnerships. These resources include practical guides and training manuals on business start-up, financial management, business planning and making grant applications. These materials can be found on the SureStart website.
