The School Crossing patrols play a very important part in ensuring the safety of the local children travelling to and from school in the Oldham Borough. They are provided where children are in danger from road traffic when walking to and from school. This is not necessarily directly outside a school but could be anywhere on a direct route. Oldham Council currently has 82 School Crossing Patrols in operation.
