Welcome to the web page of Oldham Sport Development

The Sport Development service is part of the Children, Young People and Families Directorate of Oldham Council. We provide a diverse service to address the needs of children, young people and their families in the borough through sport and physical activity, with the ultimate aim of increasing levels of participation.
This is done namely through a team of Sport Development Officers and coaches, who work closely with schools, communities, sports clubs and other key partners to provide a wide range of sport and physical activity opportunities.
Our pages will allow you to access information on the services we currently provide. There is also an opportunity to find out about activities going on near you and some of the good new stories in sport that have happened recently.

The vision for Oldham Sport Development is ‘Lifelong participation in sport and physical activity through schools, communities and sports clubs.’
Our annual Service Improvement Plan (SIP) sets out the priorities for Oldham Sport Development. SIP’s are the means by which Oldham Council plans and delivers improvements within its services.
Oldham Sport Development has refined its key objectives for 2008-09. These 7 objectives drive the work that we do.
