The National Agreement on Raising Standards and Tackling Workload was designed to improve the status and conditions of all who work in schools.
The Agreement acknowledged the pressure which schools were under to raise standards and tackle unacceptable levels of workload for teachers and introduced a series of significant changes to teachers' conditions of service, introduced in three annual phases from September 2003:
September 2003:
September 2004:
September 2005:
Remodelling is a process which enables schools and other organisations to develop effective and long-term change programmes to meet their own specific circumstances.
We work with schools to advise and support them in remodelling their practice to implement the contractual changes introduced by the Agreement, often through redefining staff roles and responsibilities (workforce reform). Closely linked to the work of Remodelling the school workforce is the development of Extended Schools, please see the link below for further information about what is happening in extended schools in Oldham.
