Hearing Impairment Team

Operational responsibilities

  • Promote and support the inclusion of children and young people with hearing impairment aged 0-19 and their parents, carers and colleagues in pre-school settings, schools and colleges from diagnosis.
  • Audiological management and assessment in collaboration with the Health Authority.
  • Specialist assessment, advice, support and teaching for children and young people who have a hearing impairment in a range of settings.
  • Interpret clinical information, identify the access and educational implications of HI and advise on reasonable adjustments.
  • Monitor the progress of all children and young people diagnosed with a hearing impairment who live in Oldham or attend Oldham schools.
